Hi guys, just thought i'd voice some of the issues i recently ran into while on a 4 day road trip using our S35 navig8r. Firstly while using the unit in my home town, it was showing roads that to the best of my knowledge never excisted(been here 15yrs). Next the so called "DYNAMIC re-routing" was aweful to say the least. It would try and send us back to where we were forced to leave the route (either by car accident or road works). At one stage in Sydney it had us going around a block, just round in circles??????? Numerous occasions i had to switch the unit off and back on(only way it would work) so it would re-route and "NOT" send me back where i came. The maps were so far out that i spent more time in the grass than on the road and was showing things like round abouts etc that did not exist. Another function i did not like was when the unit tells you to bear right/left. This can be very confusing if multiple roads are in play. Frustrated is an understatement.

Dear Dave, We understand your frustrtations and have passed your comments onto Navteq (the map provider). We are working with Navteq and Route 66 on updates for the S and L series products. As a small consolation, should you want to swap out the Navteq/Route 66 SD card for a new M series solution (SD card) we could work out a transfer. The M series is very different to the L/S series and wont have these issues. please contact us for more information. |

I recently purchased a Navig8r S35. Whilst waiting for it to be delivered I downloaded the instruction manual. When it arrived I charged the unit, removed the card and formatted it, as per the instructions and installed the software from the CD. When I look for an exact address in Burpengary Queensland I get thousands of possibles. When I put in an address in Ipswich Queensland, it says 'no search results'. Am I doing something wrong, is it the unit or.......... Marno |

marno. we're surprised that you could recently purchase this PINK unit, having been discontinued in 2008. In any case, it runs Route 66 software with navteq build, which unfortunately is no longer supported by R66 service. As to your routing instructions try inputting your target address differently.. |
