Hi all,
I currently have a L35 and it is an excellent unit. Recently my car charger broke at the end and landed in around 20 pieces never to be used again.
Where can i get a replacement car charger?
I have seen the accessory packs on this site but don't need any of the other bits just the charger. I can't justify spending $30 bucks for a charger and throwing the rest in a drawer. Especially when i can buy a new GPS for around $150.
I would even be happy to get second hand one. My L35 is useless without the car charger as the battery has died and it will only work on constant power but that suits me fine for the moment.
So if anyone has an old charger they don't want or if Club Admin have some they could send me it would be appreciated. I love my L35 but if i don't get a charger soon, im off to buy a new unit.

dont buy a new unit on account of the car charger. email us at club_admin@navig8r.com.au with your address details and unit ID number (on the back of the unit) and we'll send you one. it may not make it in time for Christmas though... |

Thanks for that Admin - that is excellent customer service.
I didn't want to have to buy a new unit since i love my L35. I wasn't sure if you could help since my unit is just on 2 years old now and most certainly out of warranty.
Just to let you know Admin, i called your head office a few weeks ago regarding the post above and asked for a stockist in Brisbane or if i could buy a car charger over the phone. I was told over the phone basically to buy the complete accessory kit via the website and thats all that could be done. Hence the reason for this post I was about to buy a competitors unit if i had no luck here.
I think advising customers on stockist locations for individual accessories or doing what you have through this thread over the phone would be a big boost to your business. Selling individual accessories (instead of the full accessory kit) via your website would be a huge step forward. I have friends with Laser GPS products and they all said the same as me - they wouldn't want the rest just the charger. My friends car charger for his L35 has been glued together a few times so i will advise him of this thread.
Thats just my opinion.

we'll look at splitting the accessory kit into individual components (it's a sales vs service thing).
Our service dept. have recieved your email and address details. two chargers in the mail, one for your buddy.

Chargers received today in the post and my GPS is working again.

| my carcharger broke this week too It was easily a couple of years old now. I guess the QLD heat doesn't help the plastic. Lucky laser had sent me a spare when I last upgraded! |

Hi there, I am in the same predicament, mine is only just over 2 years old and I cannot seem to get a updated Sd map card for this, I did not think that the unit is disposable..LOL...I have used it twice |

Unfortunately this is a common issue with technology and hardware. The new map software requires a faster processor and more internal memory to accommodate the new features. The actual map and software component are compiled together and ported / programmed to a hardware device. So even if we could ship you a map on an SD card, it wouldn’t work with your Nokia Gate 5 interface or on the hardware of the L series chassis. It's sort of like getting Windows 7 to work on an older PC which ran Windows 2000. Agreed, your device is only 2 years old however hardware spec and software platforms for GPS products have moved three times in that period. Another important point to note is that for price of our trade in upgrade offer is less than the average price for a map upgrade from other GPS brands and for that you would only get the software on a CD sent to you.
In terms of your old L35, if you choose to upgrade to the new unit, then we really don’t need you to return the unit to us. We just need a serial number so you could use it as a backup or give it away. By the way, our overseas maps (US, Europe and NZ still work on the L35).

No big issue, but would like to keep the L35. Any chance as previously mentioned I could be advised where I may be able to pick up a new car charger without all the other accessories.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Navig8r had some L35 chargers in December. Get in touch with support and see if you can get a charger by it self.
For any Service and Technical Support for GPS email at : support@navig8r.com.au or call us on 1300 988004 between 9:00 am AEST to 5:00 pm AEST during business days.
Try Dick Smith or the Mobile phone shops. Take the charger with you so you can compare them.
